What is an In-District Transfer?
An In-District Transfer allows students zoned for one Conway Public Schools District (CPSD) school to request a transfer to another school within the district. These requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are typically granted based on space availability and extenuating circumstances.
If you live outside CPSD boundaries and wish to attend, please visit our School Choice page for more information.
2025-2026 IN-DISTRICT TRANSFERS
Transportation: Parents/guardians must provide transportation for students attending a school via in-district transfer.
Kindergarten Transfers: Incoming kindergarten students must complete online registration at their zoned school before submitting an in-district transfer request. The zoned school will contact you to finalize registration. Registering at your zoned school ensures your child has a spot in case the transfer request cannot be granted.
Ongoing In-District Transfers: If your student is currently on an in-district transfer (entering 1st-7th grade), there’s no need to reapply unless:
Your student is moving from elementary to middle school. Guardians must submit an in-district transfer request for students transitioning from 4th to 5th grade if they wish to attend a middle school outside their zoned area.
You wish to transfer your student to a different school for the upcoming year.
Please submit your transfer request only once. Duplicate submissions may cause delays in processing. If you need to make changes, contact us directly before resubmitting
2024-2025 IN-DISTRICT TRANSFERS
We are no longer accepting transfer requests for the 2024-25 school year at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
GENERAL IN-DISTRICT TRANSFER INFORMATION
Transportation: Parents/guardians are responsible for transporting students on in-district transfers.
Reapply Requirements: Once a transfer is granted, you only need to reapply before middle school or if a school change is desired.
Application Process: Transfer applications are processed after a designated date to allow time for principals to verify enrollment numbers and ensure capacity limits (90%) are maintained. Applications are considered in the order they are received, and only fully complete forms are reviewed.
Capacity Limits: State-mandated class sizes limit enrollment. For example, each kindergarten class can have no more than 20 students per teacher, and each 4th-grade class can have no more than 28 students per teacher.
