2023 Conway Public Schools District Teacher of the Year Named

Michelle Dismuke, second grade teacher at Jim Stone Elementary, has been named 2023 Teacher of the Year for the Conway Public Schools District. Mrs. Dismuke is a native of Arkansas. She graduated from White Hall High School in 1995 and continued her education at Arkansas State University, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). At UCA, she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education with an ESL endorsement and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She earned a Master's degree in Reading at UCA.

Mrs. Dismuke began her Conway teaching career at Ida Burns Elementary, where she was
awarded Teacher of the Year in 2012. She relocated to Humble, TX where she taught second
grade at Atascocita Elementary for four years. She received her Texas Teacher's License, ESL
endorsement, and GT certification while there. Since 2020, she has been teaching at Jim Stone
Elementary.

Passionate about growth, learning, reading, church, and the outdoors, Mrs. Dismuke also
cherishes time with her husband Ryke, children Daxton and Addyson, friends, and dog Leo. She
is a dedicated advocate for children's education. Her ultimate goal is to leave a lasting impact on her students and their families with her positive attitude and loving spirit as a teacher.

A statement from her nomination summed it up, “President Theodore Roosevelt said, ‘No one
cares how much you know until they know how much you care.’ Everyone knows that Michelle
Dismuke cares.”
