🌟 Wampus Cat Wednesday: Where Are They Now? 🌟
This week, we’re proud to feature Doneshia Boyd (Moore), CPSD Class of 2009!
Doneshia followed in her parents' footsteps, Dennis and LuVeta Moore, by attending the University of Central Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Her career started at UCA, eventually transitioning into HR. Today, she’s the Manager of Talent Acquisition at Acxiom, leading the Early Career and University Relations team, helping students launch careers in STEM. Doneshia’s dedication shines through—she's a 2023 Conway Area Leadership Institute graduate and serves on the boards of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and the Boys and Girls Club of Faulkner County.
She married the love of her life, Derrick Boyd, in 2020, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Demi and Skylen. But that’s not all—Doneshia is also the Founder and Owner of Soirée Rentals, an event rental business offering unique pieces for any occasion. Her commitment to her family, church, and community is unwavering, and she credits God for guiding her every step of the way.
Reflecting on CPSD, Doneshia cherishes her time at JLME, CSMS, CJHS, and CHS. She was a key player in basketball, helping her team win the 1st 7A Girls Basketball title her sophomore year. She also received the Dandra Thomas True Blue Award her senior year. Field days, honor rolls, and being an honor graduate are treasured memories.
When it comes to teachers, Doneshia has several favorites: Mrs. Bray, Ms. Sowers, and Coach Irons all played a significant role in her education and development.
Her advice for students? "Your teachers and staff are there to help you. Listen, learn, and grow. Be sure to handle the things you can and ask for help when needed."
Join us in celebrating Doneshia's achievements and her ongoing impact on Conway! 💙🤍

🌟 Wampus Cat Wednesday: Where Are They Now? 🌟
We're kicking off our series with someone close to home—Katie Vinson! A proud CPSD Class of 2007 alumna, Katie is now an 11th Grade English teacher at Conway High School, fulfilling her lifelong dream of teaching in the district she grew up in.
After graduating from CPSD, Katie attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, majoring in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. She then earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from UCA. Katie is married to fellow Wampus Cat alum, Thomas Vinson, and they have two children, Charlotte (7) and Payne (5). Katie’s excitement for her 12th year of teaching is evident as she steps into what she calls her "dream job."
Katie’s journey with CPSD began in Kindergarten at Jim Stone Elementary, where her passion for teaching started early. She would imitate her first-grade teacher by drawing stars on papers, just like her teacher did. In high school, she participated in band, played clarinet, and was a varsity dance team member, serving as captain her senior year. A highlight for Katie was taking a class called Education as a Profession, where she observed one of her former English teachers, Mrs. Paglianite, confirming her path to becoming an English teacher.
Her favorite teacher? Debbie Hibbs, who made AP Lang an unforgettable experience and inspired Katie with her incredible teaching methods.
Katie’s advice for current CPSD students? "Your teachers are there to help you. One teacher can make all the difference in your school journey. Take risks, put yourself out there, and get involved! If you find a job you truly love, you'll never work a day in your life."
Join us in celebrating Katie’s journey and the remarkable educators shaping our future Wampus Cats! 💙🤍

Honoring Conway Public Schools School Board Member Mr. Bill Milburn
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our school board member, Mr. Bill Milburn. Mr. Milburn has been a valued member of the Conway School Board since March 2024, and he also served during a previous term from October 2022 to May 2023. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire CPSD community during this time of grief. Mr. Milburn’s dedication and contributions will be remembered with deep appreciation.
"We truly appreciate Mr. Milburn's service on the board. His willingness to run for the board and be fully engaged and supportive was an incredible testament to his character and love for the district. We will truly miss his presence and contribution as a board member. We hope to carry on his legacy of leadership and service with our team. He will be truly missed." - School Board President Dr. David Naylor Jr.
“It was a privilege and honor to serve with Bill Millburn on the board for Conway Public Schools. I enjoyed the time we spent together professionally and personally. He truly has a servant’s heart which is demonstrated by his years of public service, his dedication to his local church, love for his family, and his commitment to our community. He will be greatly missed and I extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.” - School Board Vice President Trip Leach
“Bill Milburn was a man of great character! He was solid in his faith, and there was no gray area for Bill when it came to what was right or wrong. We have lost an incredible board member and friend. Heaven has gained an angel! Rest in peace, my friend. You will be missed by all of us!”
- School Board Secretary Linda Hargis
“I first became acquainted with Mr. Bill Milburn when he was appointed to the School Board in 2022. Mr. Bill was always a very kind and gentle person. He brought value to our board because of his extensive background and experience in law enforcement along with his knowledge about safety and most importantly “School Safety.” He will be missed!” - School Board Member Andre Acklin
“Mr. Milburn was my neighbor at our board meetings. He shared stories and pictures with me of his grandchildren and especially his great grand. He was definitely a family man and loved them dearly. Thank you for your kinds words to me, thank you for your service to our community and to CPS. You will be missed! RIL” - School Board Member Sheila Franklin
“Within the short time that I had the privilege of serving on the board with Mr. Milburn, I quickly learned that he had such a huge heart and an absolute desire to keep our kids and staff safe. I learned of his common sense approach and his depth of knowledge from his years of public service. It was an honor serving with him. An outstanding man who will be dearly missed.”
- Former School Board Member Jason Sandefer
"Our hearts are very heavy and saddened by the loss of Mr. Bill Milburn, one of our recently elected Conway Public School District Board Members. During the short time I served with him I was always impressed with his huge heart for all students, his thoughtfulness, and sincere dedication to "getting things done the right way." He will be sincerely missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Pam, his wife and the entire family during this time.” - Superintendent Dr. Jeff Collum.
